"...painting is the best way I've found to get along with myself."
-Robert Rauschenberg
I was born and raised in the burbs of Chicago, but now reside in the Bay Area. I'm a 20-something self-taught artist that loves to learn via exploring different styles and mediums. Art and the mind are my passions, which converge in my current studies toward a profession as an art therapist.
Creating is a form of meditation for me - a process of turning myself inside out, an opportunity to re-write moments in time and make them my own. The figurative nature of my work is compelled by my deep intrigue with the human experience. A habitual mood-reader, I explore the sensation of dipping into another’s experience by being in mere proximity. Themes in my work are informed by intergenerational trauma, human motive, and experiences associated with mental illness; they capture feelings such as dissociation, nothingness, and lethargy.
